Santiago Apartments las Americas Tenerife
Gabriella has a lovely little apartment. It is very compact, but in a nice way; they make great use of the space. I stayed there with 2 friends and the 3 of us fit comfortably. We could even have had a fourth there as there are two double beds. Everything is also as it appears in the photos, and was perfectly clean and tidy when we arrived. Gabriella very kindly left some bananas and water for us when we arrived, and showed us around for a few minutes. Other amenities included high speed wifi, towels (and beach towels), a fully equipped kitchen, tv, a safe, and even a sewing kit! Her husband Guido also picked us up from the airport (for a fee). We had no trouble finding him, and everything went smoothly. The apartment is located on the first floor of a complex with a pool. We spent most days there. It is €2.50 a day to rent a lounger and an extra euro for an umbrella or a cushion. There is a poolside cafe with food, drinks, snacks, ice cream, cocktails... We spent a lot of time there too! The only thing is that the pool area closes at 6pm (when it is still very hot - we were surprised by that the first day) and you cannot use lilos in the pool (we went and bought some and then weren't allowed to use them. Our own fault, but good to be aware). The area itself is quiet and residential but is extremely close to everything in Playa de las Americas. It is no more than a 10 minute walk to the main clubbing area (Las Veronicas) or the beach, and there are restaurants everywhere. The only other thing I would say is that there is a fan above one of the beds but not the other. The two of us sleeping beneath the fan were very comfortable, but our friend in the other bed got a little hot. We were there in June and it didn't seem to be too much of a problem, but could be more of a problem in the hotter summer months. Apart from that small detail we have no complaints! We loved Gabriella's apartment and would definitely recommend it, to families and partiers alike :)
